My Little Mermaid

This is what I found one day when I got out of the shower. Zoe decided she wanted to be a mermaid. I guess mermaids wear bathing suits, in Zoe's world.

Noah wanted to get in on the fun, so he too dug out his swimsuit. Next time maybe they should just ask to go to the local indoor swimming pool.

Jingle Bells

I can't believe it is December already. We started the month off right with using Jingle Bells and singing Christmas songs at the library. We even made mittens for our tree. The last few weeks we've had story time on the ABC rug and Zoe always insists on sitting on the "Z" since it is her number (according to her). Noah also likes to sit on a letter from his name - this particular week he had to settle for the "H" as someone had already claimed the "N". However in this picture it is looking like he slid over to the "I", probably so he could see better.

It was too snowy and icy this week to make it to story time and the kids sure missed it. We can't wait for next week.

New Song

Noah has become quiet the songwriter lately, especially when he is angry. I really wanted to get his "angry" dance on video, but of course he wouldn't cooperate. His angry dance goes Stomp, Wiggle, Stomp, Stomp, Stomp. But here's an example of another funny one.

Fly Trouble

This is Zoe's reaction to a pesky fly. If you look closely it is on the back of her chair.

She has become terrified of all alying insects, due to a bee sting on her eyebrow.

Build - A - Bear

We had a nice visit from Grandma Lynie and Papa Mike during the month of November. They came up the weekend before Thanksgiving. Noah and Zoe enjoyed playing games with Grandma Lynie and talking her ear off. Noah got the opportunity to take Papa Mike and Grandma Lynie on the Ferris Wheel at the Chocolate store (Scheel's). While there we saw a scuba diver cleaning the fish tank, shot animals, tasted some yummy fudge and gelato, and saw Santa. They took the kids to Build-A-Bear to pick out a new stuffed friend. We had dinner at the Crab and Shrimp place (GSR buffet). Then on Sunday Grandma Lynie got to go to Primary with Noah and help teach the kids some sign language for one of the new Christmas songs. And that was after the fire alarm during Sacrament Meeting. We fit a lot of fun into a very short visit. Here are some pictures from the highlight of their stay.

It took some time to make the decision of what animal to get. Zoe ended up with a Pink Bear and Noah a Monkey. They then got to pick a voice box - Noah's Monkey makes Monkey noises, Zoe's bear has a special message recorded by her Grandma Lynie. Their "unstuffed" animals.

Here are some pictures from the Heart Ceremony. As you can see Noah isn't too thrilled about it and Zoe didn't quiet understand it. But in the end they both finally participated. First they rubbed the heart between their hands to make it warm.

Then they rubbed it on their arms to give it strong muscles.
Other actions included giving it a kiss to be full of love, touching their head to make it smart, and in the end jumping 3 times to give it energy.

She finally decided to ask for help.

Their animals are their new constant companions. They even sleep with them which is fine, until you are woken up way too early by Grandma Lynie's voice.

Primary Program

Noah participated in his first Primary Program. Grandma Sandi, Papa Tim, Trenity, and Chelsea came up to support him. We had a nice quick visit with them. The kids really had fun playing together and were sad to see the visit come to an end. Noah and Chelsea even slept in his bedroom all by themselves. I wish I would have taken some pictures while they were here. The girls were really good about playing dress up with Zoe and putting up with Noah. I am so proud of my little boy - he came up with his part all on his own and had no problem saying it all by himself in front of everyone during Sacrament Meeting. This year's theme was My Eternal Family. Our class talked about coming to earth as part of a Family. Noah was to give an example of a blessing we have from being part of a family. It went as follows, "I have a sister, who is also my best friend. So I always have someone to play with."

Grandma later sent Noah a Thank You card with a $5 bill in it. This is how he chose to spend it.

A Month in Review

I'm not sure where November went. I guess I've been a little more preoccupied than I'd like to admit. Here is a quick overview of things that happened in November.

Turkey Headbands at the Library. Tee Pees at the library. Made out of flour tortillas, pretzels, markers, vanilla frosting. If I were to do it again (and we probably will next year) I would use flour tortillas, pretzels, edible food coloring markers, and cream cheese. I think they turned out really cute and the kids had a lot of fun putting them together. Zoe's is on the left, Noah's is on the right.

Trying out a new self-serve Frozen Yogurt shop for FHE. There were too many choices as far as yogurt and toppings. I can't wait to go back. Dress up fun. Walmart had a really good sale after Halloween on their left over costumes, 75% off. Here is Super Girl and the Fire Fighter. Still to come Dorothy and the Army Guy.

The result of our Water Problem. The City of Fernley reimbursed us for water we didn't use. A grand total of $716.56. Maybe it will be a Good Christmas after all.

We decided to have Thanksgiving in Roseville this year since the weather was still so nice. We got up early Thanksgiving morning to make the trip, as you can see we left the kids in their PJs, and got back that night around 10:30 PM since Dan had to work the next day. We stopped by to grab a paper on our way out of town and I shopped all the way over the summit. We enjoyed breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa Woffinden's and then snacks and dinner at Aunt Charlynn's. It was a nice day with family. Charlynn put us to work helping with the finishing touches - I even got to make a chocolate pie! It was the first time I had a smoked Turkey, I'm not much of a Turkey fan, but I could eat this any day. Dan loved Grandma's sweet potatoes - I finally discovered a way that he will eat them. We got to meet Uncle Dennis and Cousin Alex. Zoe really loves her Great Uncle Dennis, I'm so sad I didn't get any pictures of them interacting with one another, or anyone else for that matter. He some how got her to eat her dinner and by the end of the evening she was sitting on his lap. The kids also had fun playing with Kelly and can't wait for her to come to our house. As always, Charlynn was good about letting Noah and Zoe feed the chickens and gather the eggs. We even got to spend some time with Uncle Matt. Grandma challenged him to write a song about her and make it sound Hot. Two words you usually don't use together - Hot Grandma. We also got to try Tofurkey. All in all it was a nice day - too bad we couldn't stay longer.
