Happy Thanksgiving

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Christensen Family. We are so blessed to have such great friends to celebrate with; it makes it easier to be away from family. It helps that our kids are so much alike. Noah and Erik are very rule oriented and like things to go according to plan. Zoe and Kysha are both very stubborn. The four of them can play constructively for hours, without too much parental involvement. They are also good at including Kambrie as much as possible. They love hanging out together so much that there were several phone calls exchanged that morning trying to figure out when both families would be ready.

Our menu was phenomenal and as with any get together there was more than enough food. It helped that we all only had to prepare a portion of it. However, dessert was a little crazy. I think we ended up with a pie per person. Gotta love left overs. Jalyssa's clan was responsible for the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, Jello salad, and rolls. Plus she ended up making a chocolate cream pie, a banana cream pie, a veggie tray, and a cheese ball. We brought stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, buttermilk pie, pumpkin pie, and a bunch of appetizers.

After dinner and before dessert the kids put on there very own Thanksgiving day parade while the grownups played a few games of Disney Scene It Trivia and Pit. All in all it was a very good day. We even swapped kid duties the next day and got started on our Christmas Shopping, hitting the black Friday sale at Walmart.
