Reading = Fun

One of our weekly activities is going to the Fernley Library for story time, or to check out books and DVDs. I must admit it isn't as exciting as it was in Utah when my friend Jill took Noah and I to the downtown Salt Lake City Library, but it is pretty good for a small town library. They start off with a few songs, read the kids a story, do a craft related to the story, and then finish with another song or two.

On this particular week the story was: "Dog's Colorful Day." Noah and Zoe had so much fun using and fighting over the glue stick...... -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of the Noah and Zoe's favorite books to check our are the "Charlie and Lola" books by Lauren Child. They also like to watch "Charlie and Lola" on Playhouse Disney. For those of you who aren't familiar with "Charlie and Lola," here's a picture of one of their books.... Every story and episode starts out...."I have this little sister Lola she's small and very funny...." (spoken with a British accent) and then they manage to have a fun adventure. At times my kids love to act out or recreate the stories and their Dad said yes to this request.

In one of the shows Lola and her friend have a Lolly in the Paddling Pool. (translation: a Popsicle in a child's swimming pool) I guess when you are three the bathtub is just like a swimming pool.....

....I must admit it does make clean up a breeze.

On a side note:

We all know that books end with "The End" -- According to Noah all books end with "Amen"
