Good Times with Friends

Kid Swap time came around again. Dan and I enjoyed a nice day at the Legends in Sparks. We enjoyed lunch at The Jazz Kitchen. They give you fresh bread when you first sit down, we tried fried pickles, I had a nice salad and a bowl of Gumbo, Dan tried an fried oyster poorboy, then we had yummy dessert - I can't think of the name, but they are basically fresh doughnuts with a yummy cream sauce for dipping. I can't wait to go back and try more things, they had way too many choices on the menu. It also had a fun atmosphere and the service was phenomenal. Not to mention the prices are really affordable. After lunch we enjoyed walking around and looking at the different shops. I tried out a few bikes at Scheel's and we were able to do some Birthday shopping. It was a nice relaxing day as we didn't have an agenda before hand, so we just strolled around. I so enjoy the opportunity to spend time as a couple without our kids - I love finishing a conversation without a million interruptions.

Here are some highlights from our day with the Steffens kids. Their parents spent the day celebrating their Anniversary. Our kids play so well with each other; I love that my kids are so worn out by the end of the day, they don't fight going to bed.

Sometimes it is so hard to share.....
Jenna playing with the coveted stroller.... As you can see they worked it all out - Girls will be Girls.....
The boys enjoying the pool on a hot summer day.....(sorry about the pink Dayton - he later discovered he could touch)
Take 2 - trying to get everyone to look at the camera.....
Wyatt walking around...
Noah inspecting his funnoodle....
That night we also had the missionaries over for dinner and by missionaries I mean all 4 of them. Needless to say the meal was a little hectic; I think that is the most people we have tried to feed at one time since we moved here, two years ago. Luckily, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I wish I would have gotten pictures of Jenna and Zoe - for being girls they are such messy eaters. I'm undecided as to who is the queen of messy eating. They each have their own unique style.

Another cute thing that happened that day - Zoe got to run errands with Daddy and be his "special helper". She wasn't gone more than 15 - 20 minutes when Noah went to the front window and said: "I just miss my Zoe so much - - she's my best friend!" Need I say more? This was definitely one of those proud mom moments when you know you must be doing something right. Evidence that your kids really do love one another. Too bad they were at each others throats the next day.
