To close it with a bang, Miss Helen brought a kiddie pool and Banzai slide. The kids had a blast playing on the front lawn. Miss Helen said we could even borrow her slide as it just sits in her garage. I kindly turned her down, but she said we know where to find her if we happen to change our mind. She is such a nice lady. She's even let my kids borrow her own personal books she has used at story time. I guess it pays off to help her clean up on messy days and that my kids thank her every week. Not to mention they are always well dressed and well behaved. They sure can't wait until story time starts up again in September.
Waiting for the fun to begin. They are both hanging out in their Luau suits. (Zoe's is from Dollar Tree - thanks Grandma Sandi) So they were excited to be "matching."

Zoe's turn on the slide....
Step 1: trying to get her to climb up - after the initial climb I just ended up setting her on top each time.
Step 2: Say cheese and pose for the camera.
Step 3: A big splash at the bottom. Climb out, run back to the line and repeat.
Playing in the kiddie pool...
Noah's turn on the slide...
Step 1: waiting in line.
Step 2: Climb to the top.
Step 3: sit on your bum. (at least on this trip down - he also tried his tummy.)
Step 4: Here goes nothing.
Step 5: Splash at the bottom. Then repeat as many times as you can.
Later that afternoon Rachel and Olivia got to come over and play. It was such a joy to have them over, everyone had fun playing together, and the girls got to see 101 Dalmatians for the first time. They kept my kids busy, so I was able to be a little creative in my kitchen. The fun didn't stop there - Papa Tim stopped in for a visit. He was doing work in the Reno area and was headed out to Fallon or Yerrington, but the time he made it to Fernley - his clients weren't available. So he stopped in for a quick visit before turned around and headed for home. Noah and Zoe were so excited and weirded out a bit that he was here - as they weren't expecting him. To be honest, I was completely thrown off too - I saw a black car in my driveway and it took me a few moments to figure out who it could be.

My kids were so worn out by the end of the day - Zoe fell asleep at the table during Dan's Birthday celebration and Noah fell asleep mid sentence on the couch.
